Building the data layer — then the AI

Most software stories start with a feature list. Ours is quieter.

CarVinsight is decision-support software for used-car dealers. The product is live. A dealer pilot is running. And in parallel — not as a slide, as work — a detailed database build is underway.

That sentence is enough for the people who need to understand it.

Why “detailed” matters without a catalogue

We are not going to publish a map of every table. Specialists already know what it means when a young product starts treating the database as a first-class object — and when AI can already be built on that database a few months after launch.

It usually means the company chose a different sequence: foundation before narrative, depth before theatre.

Structure is not a slogan here

Classic startup scripts often push you to look fundable before you look solid. Pitch, round, hire, narrate, then maybe the hard infrastructure.

We are not running that script.

CarVinsight’s structure — owner and AI partner, no personal-dividend exit story, no obligation to perform “startup” for its own sake — is what makes this sequence possible. We can spend attention on the data layer that decision-support actually stands on, instead of spending it on looking like the template.

That is not anti-growth. It is anti-pretence.

What this is for

Dealers do not need another lecture. They need a clearer decision picture: search, cost, value, stock — with market and cost context attached to the vehicle.

A serious data layer is how that picture gets thicker over time. AI on top of an empty shell is marketing. AI on top of a real database is product.

Where we are

  • Product: live

  • Pilot: active

  • Database: under active build — AI already attachable

  • Public sites: carvinsight.com (EN) · carvinsight.eu (HU)

We will keep the public voice careful: no “first in the world,” no invented depth, no pressure language. Progress is the work itself.
